Design critiques are meant to make the design—and designer—better. This is typically done through a group conversation where a presenter shares a design, and one or more critics offer thoughtful and informed feedback.
A design critique can and should be a positive event for all people involved—this isn’t simply a time to judge someone’s design to find its faults.
Facilitator Prep work:
- Create a schedule for each critique in advance (who will be presenting what, and at precisely what time?)
- Ensure that everyone in the group stays on the agenda
- Take notes during critique to help those presenting
