ANI charts are a core tool in [The Lost Tools of Writing](https://www.circeinstitute.org/lost-tools-writing), a composition curriculum by [The Circe Institute](https://www.circeinstitute.org) aimed at middle and high school grade levels. An ANI chart can be used as a decision-making tool, as well as general analysis about a particular topic. When creating an ANI chart, start by forming a statement beginning with "Whether …." For example, *Whether to (big decision)* or *Whether (so and so) is (such and such)*.
